After 5yrs of being married Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise are getting divorced! I hate to be negative but we all saw this coming. Katie never seemed happy.

This will be the third failed marriage for Tom Cruise, according to People.com who broke the story first.”This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family,” says Holmes’s attorney Jonathan Wolfe. “Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.” The Rock of Ages star, 49, wed actress Holmes, 33.

His wedding with Katie Holmes was in 2006 when she was 28 and this week, when she filed for divorce, she had reached the ripe old age of 33.

Is 33 the unlucky “magic” number for Tom Cruise. It appears  all three wives were feed up with Tom Cruise at the age of 33.

Mimi Rogers when she was 31 in May of 1987.  She was 33 when they broke up in 1990. In his second marriage to Nicole Kidman, the actors stayed together for ten years. They split in 2001, when she was 33.

Katie probably couldn’t take all the weird “stuff” surrounding her and her daughter. Katie filed for divorce this week June 28, 2012 in New York citing “irreconcilable differences.”  She is asking for sole legal custody and “primary residential custody” of the couple’s 6-year-old daughter, Suri.

We also know Katie is asking for a “suitable amount” of child support.  Katie always looked miserable, I am glad she filed for a divorce, Katie has never been fully committed to Scientology, even though she has had ties with the church and probably didn’t want her daughter growing up in the church. Hopefully it doesn’t get to ugly. And I am sure the gay rumors have not helped the situation any.
