Although his birthday isn’t until Saturday, Alicia Keys decided that her “King” deserved an early birthday gift and she went all out Thursday night throwing him a “Coming to America” themed birthday party. The party, patterned after the iconic 1988 Eddie Murphy film, was complete with a throne for Swizz and his family and African dancers. Alicia even came out to greet her husband mimicking the classic “She’s our queen to be” scene from the movie. Watch her walk out below…
The very pregnant Mrs. Beatz looked stunning in all her mommy glory in a white gown showing her beautiful baby bump and sporting a braided hair-do reminiscent of her days as a new comer on the music scene. The couple are expecting their second child in December. True to the theme Swizz sported an all black ensemble, fur, the classic Prince Akeem hat and sat in a throne fit for a king. Making it a family affair, he was joined on his throne by his mom and Grandma, who also had thrown’s of their own.
Speaking of family, once again proving that they are in a good place and have moved on, Swizzy’s ex-wife Mashonda was in attendance. She singer and mother of Swizz’s son Kasseem Jr., looked pretty in an all black dress.
Other celebrity guests included P. Diddy, Naomi Campbell, Lala Anthony and fellow Ruff Ryder DMX, who despite his extensive run ins with the law, took a pic with officers outside the party. (Guess DMX didn’t get the memo about the dress code)
All in all it looked like everyone, including the birthday boy, had a great time! Hats off to Alicia for making her King feel so special on his birthday.
