Phaedra Taught Me – Cynthia Bailey’s Agency Facing Fraud Allegations

Lawd I tell you, these Atlanta Housewives just can’t seem to get right! It seems that Cynthia Bailey is taking a page out of fellow housewife Phaedra Park’s play book and is dealing with a little fraudulent activity scam of her own. Bailey, who is the owner of Baily Agency School of Modeling in Atlanta, runs a monthly contest through her company’s website for aspiring kid and baby models. Each month, people can submit pictures of their kids, along with a $20 entrance fee for the chance to win a feature on the website for that month along with $450 worth of prizes.

According to CBS Atlanta, the site hasn’t picked a winner since October 2013; however, it has continued to collect entries and money, totaling around $1,580. Not only that but a portion of proceeds from the entrance fees were supposed to be donated to a nonprofit by the name of “Atlanta Diaper Relief”, which actually shut down six months ago. After learning about the non-profits shut-down, the proceeds now go to a different charity founded by Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Raymond, in memory of her late son. When confronted about the whole situation Ms. Bailey blamed the problems on the agency transitioning and the website not being updated as it should have been, but claims the site to now be up to date.

She also offered to issue a refund to any of the unhappy parents and issued the following statement:

The program is not revenue driven. The Bailey Babies Contest was created in the spirit of giving moms with young babies a platform to give their children exposure. This was a fun & inexpensive way to involve young babies in the school since they are obviously too young to participate in any of the other school programs that are offered. The program was also developed for the purpose of extending our brand out to people outside of the Atlanta area that support and want to be a part of The Bailey Agency. I apologize for any negligence on my part as far as my staff not keeping the website properly updated. I hope after receiving all the correct and updated information from me personally, you can appreciate the sincerity of my intentions. I appreciate you for bringing this important matter to my attention. I can assure The Bailey Babies mommies that this will not be an issue going forward. Thank you for providing the opportunity to address this matter.”

I don’t know what to say about this, I hate to sound shady but am I the only one who thinks Uncle Ben aka Peter might have had something to do with this? Maybe he’s trying to invest in a new restaurant or put down a security deposit on that man cave. Either way, I’m going to need Ms. Bailey to stay on top of her business!
