Nas Says If He Married Again He Wouldn’t Cheat

In a recent interview with VH1 Nas spoke about his album, Kelis and marriage…..

“Life Is Good” represents an honest place of where he’s been and where he’s at today. The good, bad and ugly. One of

the most introspective songs, “Bye Baby,” is about his ex-wife Kelis, the one whose green wedding dress he’s holding

on the cover. In the song he raps, “Listen, could you imagine writing your deposition?/Divorce Lawyer telling you

how this thing gonna be ending?/With you paying out the a–, and I’m talking half/Not some but half. No serious,

half/Half of your soul, half of your heart you leaving behind.” Nas bears his soul over a Salaam Remi & 40 beat.
When VH1 asked him why he wrote the song he said he wanted to do something that had meaning and impact. As far as

matters of the heart, he admits a huge shocker, revealing if he had to do it all over again he wouldn’t cheat. “Respect.

Trust. No infidelity,” he said. “At some point I got pissed off during the relationship and strayed. I wouldn’t do that

again. It would be all good.” Nas is truly on his grown man tip for owning up to that. But had he told this to Kelis?

“Yeah, I told her. I told her that,” the Queensbridge rapper said. “I apologized, she apologized. We just move on. You

live and you move on.”
