According to (AP) Mayweather must pay for defamation of character.  Mayweather is ordered to pay $113,774 in damages.

 A federal court judge in Nevada ordered boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. to pay about $114,000 in lawyer fees and costs for avoiding questioning from rival fighter Manny Pacquiao’s lawyers.

Attorneys for neither man immediately responded Wednesday to messages about Monday’s order.

The judge ruled that Mayweather violated a court order to be questioned under oath by Pacquiao’s attorneys in a civil defamation lawsuit.

Pacquiao accuses Mayweather of defamation for statements alleging that the Filipino fighter used performance-enhancing substances.

Pacquiao denies that claim.

The award of more than $113,000 in legal fees and $774 in costs came after Pacquiao’s lawyers lost a bid to end the case with a default judgment for Pacquiao.

According to reports the mother of Floyd’s daughter, Melissa Brim, called 911 at 2am last week to report that she had been in a verbal altercation with Floyd Mayweather and that he’d taken her cell phone and fled
