Miami Heat star LeBron James is exercising his early termination option, making him a free agent this summer.James had until June 30th to make the decision but has apparently already made up his mind about hitting the open market. The Heat star was set to earn $20,590,000 in 2014-15 if he opted in.
King James, 29, has opted out of his contract with the Heat and will become a free agent. At this time, we don’t know anything about LeBron’s plans other than the fact that he is opting out of his current contract. He may stay with Miami or he may leave …..only time will tell. But I am sure once Pat Riley gets in his ear he will stay in Miami!! It is possible he will want an early termination option once again in any new contract.
Even though James will be a free agent, it is still possible that he returns to the Heat on a new contract. All other NBA teams will be able to discuss contracts with James once free agency.
