Kevin Hart is officially the man, ABC has picked up the pilot for a half-hour show based on the 34-year-old comedian’s stand-up act. Community‘s executive producers Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan focuses on a post-divorce couple trying to power through their struggles for the sake of their kids. There are no plans for the Philly native to star but he may play a recurring role if the series moves forward.
According to Vibe.com The Hartbeat Productions CEO, whose breakout role was on the Judd Apatow-helmed show Undeclared, has been on a winning streak after going on to sell out arenas nationwide, and movie theatres with his hilarious blockbuster Let Me Explain, which grossed $32 million this year. Congratulations to Kevin and expanding his brand… Moving to Prime time T.V.. Same with DL Hugley, Bernie Mac, Stevie Harvey, Cedric The Entertainer…. And the list goes on. Kevin doesn’t plan to star in the sitcom, but will likely play a recurring role if the series goes forward.
