Jay Z’s Tidal Concert Reunited Rocafella Rap Artist, Disses Youtube & Spotify

Last night May 16th, 2015 Jay Z hit the stage at New York City’s Terminal 5 for a free concert for Tidal subscribers  “Tidal X: Jaÿ-Z B-Sides” — a concert presented by his streaming music service Tidal. Jay Z brought out Memphis Bleek, and yes Beanie Sigel — (who performed “You, Me, Him, and Her” with Jay, Young Chris, and Neef), Jay Electronica (who followed his appearance on “We Made It” with a performance of “Exhibit C” with Just Blaze), and Young Jeezy (who did “Go Crazy” and “Who Dat”). Jay Z did a tribute honoring the late B.B. King with a moment of silence and also dedicated a tribute to Jimi Hendrix with the “black national anthem.”

Jay Z spoke on Spotify, YouTube, deaths of Freddie Gray, Mike Brown & Trayvon in a freestyle during his Tidal Concert. Back in the day, Jay would go after other rappers he was beefing with, but now the mogul goes after multi-billion dollar corporations. HOV defended his music streaming company by going in on YouTube and Spotify.

Check Jay’s new lyrics below:

“I don’t need no middle man to talk to my niggas
I understand if you don’t understand, I figure I’m Jigga
That’s where we differ
I take what’s mine, you accept what they give ya, I get ya
I don’t take no checks, I take my respect
Pharrell even told me go with the safest bet–
Jimmy Iovine offered a safety net–
‪#‎Google‬ dangled around a crazy check
I feel like YouTube was the biggest culprit
They pay you a tenth of what you’re supposed to get—
You niggaas die for equal pay right?
You know what I’m worth? I ain’t ya slave right?
You know I ain’t shuckin’ and jivin’ and hi-fivin’
You know this ain’t back in the days, right?
Well I can’t tell the way they killed Freddie Gray, right?
Shot down Mike Brown, how they did Tray, right?
Let ’em continue choking niggas
We gonna turn style, I ain’t ya token nigga
You know I came in this game independent ?
You know I had my own label, same difference
Oh, niggas is skeptical when it’s their own shit–
You bought nine iPhones and Steve Jobs is rich–
Phil Knight worth trillions, you still bought them kicks
Spotify is nine billion, they ain’t say shit–
Lucy you got some explainin’ to do
The only one they hatin’ on looks the same as you
That’s cool, I know they tryin’ to bamboozle you
Spendin’ millions on me to tryin’ to confuse you
I had to talk to myself, Hov you should be used to it
It’s politics as usual”
