Carmelo can become a free agent after this upcoming season; however, he has made it very clear that he does not what to talk about it. He did indicate that he planned to re-sign with the New York Knicks. But money can change a person’s whole demeanor.
“I’m not going nowhere,” Anthony said during an interview Tuesday with Bloomberg Television’s “Market Markers.”
“That is one of the reasons why I wanted to come here to New York, just so I could take on those pressures and those challenges,” Anthony said. “A lot of people do not like to deal with the pressure. A lot of people do not know how to deal with the challenges they face. To me, it is everyday life.”
Anthony is due to make $23.3 million in the 2014-15 season. However, if he decided to opt out of his contract I’m pretty sure the Lakers will pursue him being the franchise will have the most money the following season. Rumor has it they might be trying to pursue King James as well because his contract will be up at the end of the 2013-2014 season with the Miami Heat as well. Only time will tell but as of now Carmelo Anthony will continue to try and bring a a title to the Garden.
