Cosby voluntarily dropped his lawsuit against accuser Andrea Constand shortly after a federal judge ruled Cosby could sue Andrea Constand for her tweets showing she may have breached her confidentiality agreement from the 2006 civil settlement when she sued Cosby.
Cosby filed a notice of voluntary dismissal Thursday afternoon in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, dismissing the action without prejudice as to add defendants.
A Statement From Bill Cosby ‘s new Attorney Angela Agrusa releases a statement :
“Last week, Judge Robreno denied in substantial part the motions to dismiss filed by American Media, Inc. (publisher of National Enquirer), Andrea Constand, and her lawyers. With a court validation of his ability to proceed forward in that action to protect his own rights, Mr. Cosby has today stepped away from that suit and will instead focus his efforts on defending himself against the claims that have been lodged against him.”
