We rarely hear about the good that celebrities do when they give back, for example did you know Beyoncé built a $7 million complex for the homeless in Houston, Texas? I am not shocked nor surprised, it is just nice to hear when people do geniune things not looking for recognition. In a new book that Beyoncé’s Pastor Rudy Rasmus released titled “Love Period. When all else fails” he shares what Beyoncé has contributions to downtown Houston church and the community.
Pastor Rasmus presided over Beyonce’s 2008 wedding to rapper Jay Z. Rasmus said it’s important to separate the entertainer from the person. It’s part of the message of his new book, “Love Period. When All Else Fails.”
“When we decide to love period, we’re saying there’s nothing to follow the period. We’re gonna love you for who you are, where you are, without conditions.” Rasmus said Beyonce and her family have donated millions to the church to help house the homeless and feed the poor.
“She’s an incredible human being. Has an incredible heart and has been extremely helpful in our mission and our ministry here.” It’s a ministry Beyonce has been a part of since she was just a young girl.
“She used to sing right here,” said Rasmus. “I don’t remember the song but I do remember she had long braids, tennis shoes and jeans on. A far cry from what she is today.”
Rasmus believes today Beyonce embodies the spirit of the book he hopes touches the world.
“Love never fails. A lot of things will fail but love will never disappoint you.”
